Frito-Lay’s executive committee is passionate about elevating the representation of women in the workplace. Following are some of their thoughts on gender parity and the women who have inspired them in their lives.
“The generation of women who came before me – who felt they had to choose between a family or a career – inspire me. Thanks to them, I have not had to make that choice. Even when I struggle to juggle both, I’m grateful that I can.” – Joan Cetera, Vice President of Communications, Frito-Lay North America (FLNA)
“Gender parity is essential to the future design of Frito-Lay. To win in this rapidly changing marketplace, we need to reach ALL consumers, have roles that appeal to ALL potential employees, and have the absolute best ideas from ALL backgrounds.” – Michael Lindsey, Senior Vice President (SVP) of Transformation and Strategy, FLNA
“Diversity in the room, at the table and in the discussion makes for better decision-making which leads to better business outcomes. I have long been a believer in gender parity as critical to having a productive and healthy workplace. It's not just the right thing to do, it’s a business imperative.” – Steven Williams, SVP of Sales and Chief Commercial officer, Frito-Lay U.S.
“Gender parity in the workforce also implies gender parity at home and in caregiving, so everyone can thrive in all areas of their life. It took a bit of time to shift, but once I realized that and my family put it into action, we were all happier and less stressed because of it.” – Jennifer Saenz, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer, Frito-Lay U.S.
“Gender parity is a critical component in the evolution of our culture to support our future growth agenda. When we have teams that mirror the diversity of our consumers, we give ourselves much better chances of having the winning products and service that will continue to keep us ahead of competition.” – Patrick McLaughlin, SVP and Chief HR Officer, FLNA
And then there was a personal tribute from Frito-Lay’s general counsel:
“Michele Thatcher, PepsiCo’s SVP and Chief Counsel, Global Human Resources, has been a continuous inspiration throughout my career. She embodies the perfect balance between working (really) hard and yet never losing track of who and what really matters – and that’s the people around you, the way you treat them, and the relationships you build.” – Leanne Oliver, SVP and General Counsel, FLNA
