In northern Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and Texarkana, the job of keeping an ample supply of Frito-Lay snacks on stores shelves falls to Toya Garraway, Sales Zone Director. Toya and her team exemplify the best of Frito-Lay for stepping up under incredibly difficult circumstances during COVID-19 challenges and helping maintain an important part of the food supply in the area.
“Our team really came together and selflessly put themselves out there in order to keep the business moving forward and making sure Frito-Lay foods reached store shelves,” Toya explained. “We know snacks are just one small thing in people’s lives, but they do bring some pleasure, which is important in trying times. We’re just happy to help make that possible.”
And Toya has done everything she can to make sure her team is well taken care of while at work and once they go home for the day. The leadership team, under her direction, used creative thinking to provide support. For example, many team members didn’t have the time to shop for their own needs, plus many local restaurants were closed, so they provided hot lunches to their Frito-Lay team members. In addition, staple food items, such as loaves of bread, were handed out to employees at the end of their shifts. Toya and her entire team personify the dedication and resilience of PepsiCo associates, who are committed to going the extra mile.
