PLANO, Texas, Oct. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- With high school football season underway, PepsiCo's Frito-Lay North America business unit is kicking-off its "Score for Your School" program in Texas – inviting fans to help local high schools win a $10,000 donation for their sports programs. From now until November 1, 2013, Texas fans can visit www.ScoreForYourSchool.com, enter the Universal Product Code from any Frito-Lay product (chips, dips, salsa and more) and select the Texas public high school of their choice.
"Texas has a rich history when it comes to high school football," said Juan Carlos Ruck, regional sales vice president - Texas, Frito-Lay North America. "As high school sports programs in Texas continue to face challenges, 'Score for Your School' gives fans an opportunity to help. Now with each purchase of Frito-Lay snacks, we're giving public schools in our own backyard a chance to improve their programs with a $10,000 donation."
Frito-Lay will donate a total of $50,000 to public high schools across the state at the culmination of the promotion. Each high school is grouped according to its listing in Texas' five divisional classes (5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A). Schools collect one point for each Frito-Lay snack a fan purchases and then registers on the "Score for Your School" website, up to ten points per day. A $10,000 donation will be awarded to the top school in each division that collects the most points from their fans.
