PLANO, Texas, June 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Tostitos tortilla chips, a leading brand from PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, today kicked-off an in-store promotion at Dollar General® stores nationwide. The in-store promotion will support the USO in its mission to lift the spirits of American troops and their families.
Beginning today and continuing through July 24, 2011, Tostitos will donate $1 to the USO for each $1 off coupon redeemed for the purchase of two 9 oz. or larger bags of Tostitos tortilla chips at Dollar General. The Tostitos brand will donate a minimum of $25,000 and up to a maximum of $50,000 to the USO to help fund a variety of programs and services to support the morale, welfare, social and entertainment needs of troops and their families.
The promotion builds upon a partnership between the Tostitos brand and the USO, and continues the Tostitos brand's long-standing commitment to supporting the U.S. military. So far this year, the Tostitos brand has contributed $200,000 to the USO and partnered with the organization to create unique and memorable programming to celebrate military heroes. This has included the creation of a one-of-a-kind college football experience for U.S. military serving in the Persian Gulf, and the emotional surprise reunions of U.S. troops serving overseas with their families that were revealed during halftime of the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game in January.
